Our Aims

To encourage and support partnership working in the promotion of social inclusion.

To promote and enable the social inclusion of groups and individuals.

To effect positive change and best practise in advancing social inclusion

Our Vision

To work towards a socially inclusive society in which all individuals can achieve their potential

Background

Merseyside Expanding Horizons Ltd was registered in June 1999 as a Society for the benefit of the community under the Industrial and Provident Societies Acts 1965-1978.
The Society has developed from Expanding Horizons, a partnership which since 1998 has been running a successful, £3 million, 6 year SRB scheme which comes to a close in March 2005.
This has since been augmented with funding from Objective 1 and elsewhere to run a variety of successful projects.

Merseyside Expanding Horizons brings together Merseyside based voluntary, private and public sector agencies to promote and generate multi agency and cross sector working around key issues relevant to social inclusion. The specialist expertise in different areas of exclusion held by the diverse organisations involved continues to be a major strength of the partnership.

The organisation is recognised by many public and voluntary sector bodies as a key influence in promoting social inclusion on Merseyside and has gathered a reputation as a competent, effective voluntary sector organisation, a ´safe pair of hands´ which without bias has used the funding available to it to support a wide range of innovative projects which promote social inclusion.
